Maya Lee Childs
2018 Spring Initiate
Maya Lee Childs is a Senior from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and aspires to obtain an MD. She has a double minor in Public Health and Africana Studies. Maya serves as the current President of the Tulane Black Student Union. Presently, she is the Vice President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and a member of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. For two years, Maya held the position of Philanthropy Chair for the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students. In addition to these service positions, she has been a Psychology research lab assistant for four years and works as a Psychology tutor through the Tulane Athletic Department. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, drawing, indulging in good food, movies, and medical shows. Maya’s wish for OPSI is to instill a sense of service, integrity, and class in everyone that the chapter is fortunate enough to impact. She is a triple legacy, preceded by her mother and two grandmothers. Maya is honored to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, a prestigious organization of intelligent, influential, and beautiful women.
